Understanding YAML Structure
What is YAML?
YAML (YAML Ain't Markup Language) is a human-readable data serialization format. In this context, we're using it to outline the structure of Ephesians in a clear, hierarchical way that shows relationships between different parts of the text.
How to Read This Structure
The YAML structure uses indentation to show hierarchy. Main categories (like "chapters") contain subcategories (like "chapter_1"), which themselves may contain further subcategories.
Key elements are color-coded:
- Keys/categories - Define a type of information
- String values - Provide descriptive information
- Numeric values - Provide quantitative information
- Comments - Additional explanatory notes
Ephesians' Structure
Ephesians has a clear two-part structure:
- Chapters 1-3: Doctrinal section explaining what Christians should believe
- Chapters 4-6: Practical section explaining how Christians should live
This YAML representation helps visualize these sections, their subsections, and the thematic connections between them.
